September 22, 1939-August 31, 2015

We are profoundly sorry to announce the sudden passing of our father, David Shaw. Dave, as he was known to many, was born on September 22, 1939 in Winnipeg Manitoba. He began his career working for Manitoba Telephones and married his high school sweetheart Elaine in 1961. He moved to Campbell River in 1966 with his wife and young family and enjoyed a long career with BCTel as a radio technician until retiring in 1996. In his retirement, he continued his passion for serving his community as a long standing member of the Lion’s Club. Dave was happiest with family and enjoyed his time with his children and most of all his grandchildren amusing them all with his humour, countless jokes and legendary hugs.

An avid reader, wise knower of all questions, creative, generous, thoughtful, dependable, loyal, a Bombers fan to the end and everyone’s Dad...

Predeceased by his parents Bert and Molly Shaw, our mother Elaine, and his sister Ruth Shaw Cheroke. He is survived and missed greatly by his daughter Heather Brownhill (Wayne) and children Lindsay and Jeremy (Melissa), his son Allan Shaw (Anne) and children Cameron and Allison and his daughter Susan Shaw-Batt (Kevin) and children Joe and Dave and by his nephew Mike Cheroke (Chris) and niece Caryn Cheroke.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Cancer Society, The Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the charity of your choice.

Service to be held on Saturday, September 19th at St. Peter’s Anglican Church at 2pm.
