Born November 12, 1906 in Dexter, Iowa, passed away July 14, 2006 in Campbell River, B.C.
Dave emigrated to Peeres, Alberta from North Dakota as a small boy with his mother, father, sister Alice and brothers Harry, Claude and Paul.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 53 years, Nora.
Dave is survived by his second wife Lorraine, and his eight children all of whom were raised in Nelson, B.C. His children include Alice Phillips (Roy), Henry Hellekson (Louise), Roy Hellekson (Sylvia), Betty Hawes (Bob), Barbara Sandberg (Arne), Vernon Hellekson (Nancy), Margaret Andrusak (Harvey), and Pat Fitchett (Gord). Dave had a total of 23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. There will be no funeral at Dave’s request.
