November 17, 1961 - February 7, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel “Dan” Arlin Ashdown on February 7, 2017.
Dan passed away peacefully at home of pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife Josie, daughter Natasha, granddaughter Mia, sister Joanne and parents Al and Nicole. He is also survived by Josie’s daughter Desire, brother Steven (Cynde), nephew Zachary, niece Taryn, as well as uncles, aunts and cousins.
In 1980, Dan suffered a broken neck while at work at Elk Falls Mill. With courage and persistence, he continued to live life to the fullest from his wheelchair. He loved outdoor activities from camping and fishing to wheeling at the Spit. A hockey (and most sports) fan, he was passionate about music and his ’68 Camaro. He was most demonstrative, though, of his love for his family and friends.
The story of life is
quicker than the wink of an eye,
The story of love is
Hello and Goodbye.
Until we meet again…
~ Jimi Hendrix
There will be no service at Dan's request. There will be an Open House from noon until 4 PM at Josie and Dan's home on March 18th.
