October 2, 1935 – March 20, 2015

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Clare Storback. Clare passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Yucalta Lodge in her 80th year.

Predeceased by her husband of 39 years Arnold, her mother and father Isabelle and Charles Devine, and twin sister Kathleen. Clare leaves behind her three children, Jon (Leanne), Andrea (Dale), Joe (Tamara) and her four grandchildren Jacob, Griffin, Maria, and Matthew.

Clare was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and moved to Salt Spring Isl in 1939 where she graduated and moved on to attain her teaching degree. Clare moved to Campbell River where she taught at several local schools including both Quadra and Campbellton Elementary. She met and married Arnold Storback in 1960, and together they raised their family.

Clare was an avid badminton and tennis player. She enjoyed volunteering with youth soccer and the North Island Co-Op. She will be remembered for her generosity to others and spending social time with friends and family.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and support staff at Yucalta Lodge for their patience and care of our Mom and Nana.

For those wishing, donations in Clare’s name to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A celebration of life to be held at a later date.
