Clara Edith Pauley (“Val” Grams) passed away on January 06, 2012 at the age of 91. Born in England on July 07, 1920, Mum met and married Herbert Grams, a Canadian soldier, while serving in the W.R.N.S. during WWII. Our parents lived in Edmonton, AB until 1967 when they moved to Campbell River, BC. Mum lived in Oyster River in her own home until she died. She was predeceased by her first husband, Herb Grams, her second husband, Hanson Pauley and her grandchildren Bobby, Bryan, Michael as well as one sister and three brothers in England. She is survived by her children, David (Lucy), Maureen (Bill), Richard (Marilyn), Cindy and Frances (Dave) and her 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and by sisters and brother, Dawn, Ivan, Pearl (Tony) of England, June of Campbell River as well as many nieces and nephews in England and Canada. There will be a celebration of Mum’s life at the Maritime Heritage Centre on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 6:30pm.


While flowers are graciously accepted we would ask that any donations in Mum’s memory be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation Campbell River, PO Box 741, Campbell River, BC V9W 6J3 or to the Canadian Cancer Society for pediatric research and treatment. Thank you.
