In Loving Memory ~
Bev passed away peacefully with her family by her side, in her 98th year.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her three girls - Bonnie Snyder (Parksville), Bernice Porter (Dave) Port Alberni, Pat Olson (Dave) Campbell River, cherished grandchildren - Joe (Carla), Robert (Carmella), David (Shai), Donna (Nathan), Luke (Meagan), Andrea, Jon (Natalie), Nick(Amanda), 13 great grandchildren - near and dear to her heart - Kaitlyn, Billy, Danica, Brody, David Silver, Dylan, Hunter, Leroy, Harvey, Hannah, Jacob, Grace and Wyatt - sister in law Dalcy Christian, cousin Eleanor Derby and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Roy - 2009, grandson Billy - 1992, son in law Graham - 2018, sister Bernice Colton and brothers Merlyn and Delmar Christian.
Bev was born in Vernon B.C. and raised on a ranch in nearby Lumby. She helped with the chores, loved the animals (especially the horses), enjoyed hiking with friends and taking part in many fishing trips at Mabel Lake with her grandparents.
Mom walked 1 1/2 miles to Sunday School, took piano lessons and tap dancing - house parties and country dances at Cherryville during her teenage years were some of her favourite memories. After high school she completed a business course and worked at the Vernon Courthouse in the Entomology dept. for the bee inspector.
Mom married the love of her life - Roy - in 1951 and became a full time busy homemaker. After our family was mostly grown she returned to the workforce in 1969 with a part time position at Nite Time News in Campbell River. She enjoyed her time there for several years - retiring in 1987 and moving with Dad to Qualicum Beach.
Mom strived for perfection in all that she did and rarely settled for anything less. She was kind, caring and generous. Family was always the most important part of her life as well as sharing her love and support with many foster children over the years. Favourite pastimes included knitting, crocheting, reading, gardening and playing canasta.
Special thanks to Mom's dedicated caregivers at Arrowsmith Lodge (Parksville,B.C.), her home away from home for the last few years. There will be a private interment at Yates Cemetery - Parksville.
