Arjen was born on May 31, 1964 in the town of Driebergen, in the Netherlands.
Arjen peacefully passed away in his sleep in the early hours of Friday, December 26 due to the complications of his diabetes.
He is survived by his loving parents Pieter and Beja Koeleman; his sisters Thyra (Arnoud), Aglaia (Darcy) and his brother Mark (Victoria).
He left also to mourn his nephews and nieces Dennis, Rachelle, Arjen, Beja, Malcolm and Natasha as well as many relatives here in Canada as well as in The Netherlands and UK and his close friend Mike.
For the past thirty years Arjen has been battling diabetes with a remarkable positive attitude. In 2012 his left lower leg needed to be amputated and due to his remarkable spirit he recovered well and regained his mobility and function.
At the request of Arjen no public service, but a private celebration of life was held.
