Amy
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Amy Allan(McAllister), after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s on Sunday February 23rd, 2003.
Amy was born on November 28th, 1917, at Glasgow, Scotland. Amy moved with her family to Canada as a small child and married the love of her life, Ernie McAllister, on June 7th, 1937. Amy and Ernie resided in Victoria until Ernie’s passing in December, 1965. Amy then resided in the Comox Valley and moved to Campbell River in 1992. Amy resided at Yucalta Lodge from September, 1999, until her passing.
Amy leaves behind her daughter, Carolyn (Gary) Scales of Campbell River; son Richard (Pat) McAllister of Sooke; sister Joyce (Doug) Court of Gibsons; brother Denver Woodfield of Saanich; granddaughter Lisa (Tom) and children Shelley & Zackary Masters of Campbell River.
Amy also leaves behind her granddaughter Sheri (Bruce) and children Jason & Ryan of Victoria; granddaughter Debbie (Mike) and children Katie, Cory & Marissa of Qualicum Beach; granddaughter Sara (Kevin) and children Brooklyn and Calem of Victoria; grandson Don & family of Vancouver as well as many other great-great grandchildren, too numerous to name.
A very special thanks to Dr. Walker and the wonderful staff at Yucalta Lodge for their care & support of Amy - you are like a second family to us.
Service to be held at the Royal Oak Cemetery, in Victoria, on Friday, February 28th, 2003, at 11 a.m.
Amy will be sadly missed by those lives she touched.
