In Loving Memory ~

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Al at the age of 66 to cancer.

He is survived by his wife Lori (43 years) and their daughters Amy (Chris) and Andrea (Darcy), his sister Cindy (Howie) and his nephew Chris (Nicole).

Predeceased by his parents Harold and Sandy as well as his niece Kim.

Al's parents moved the family to Campbell River in 1964 and they never looked back. He had a long career as a Heavy Duty Mechanic starting in Kelsey Bay and ending at Syncrude in Fort McMurray. He spent many years playing in the duffer hockey league as a goalie until his knees said no more.

He was a loyal Montreal Canadians fan from day one. We all knew not to make a sound when Don Cherry was speaking on TV! Watching and attending drag races both on TV or in Seattle was also a big part of his life with John Force being his favorite.

He was a long time hot rodder over the years which started with purchasing his Mom and Dads 55 Chevy at the age of 14 to ending up with his orange big block 55 Chevy which he loved. Many cars in between, but he always said he had gone full circle. He never missed a gas station!

Many thanks and hugs to his friends for their visits and phone calls. Al loved to talk and it always made his day.

Also most heartfelt thanks to Dr R Ramsey and Dr W Tinmouth as well as the staff of nurses and caregivers at the Cr Hospital especially to 3A. Thank you does not seem enough for all you did for us during this time.

There is a huge space in our hearts and lives with him gone, but lots of memories, hugs and stories to remember him by.

No service by request.
