Passed away January 11th, 2004, at the Campbell River Hospital after a lengthy and courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born in Germany but immigrated to Canada at the age of twenty six. He worked at different jobs: planting trees at Buttle Lake, in construction, as an electrician and developing rental properties.

His first love was gardening, tending to his vegetables and harvesting his potatoes. He loved wintering in Mexico and his weekly crib games in Campbell River.

Albert was predeceased by his older brother Helmut in 2001. He is survived by sister Sigrid (Gunther), sister Waltrud (Gunther) and several nieces and nephews in Germany. Sister-in-law Eyke, niece Tanya (John) Vaton and great nephew Noah in Campbell River.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17th, 2004, at 11am. at Sutton’s Funeral Home.
