Cape Mudge Forestry Ltd.: NOTICE OF ADVERTISEMENT

Cape Mudge Forestry Ltd., a forest company wholly owned by the We Wai Kai First Nation, gives notice and invites comment on the Forest Stewardship Plan (FSP) for it’s Forest Licence to Cut and various Forest Licenses. The geographic area of the Forest Licenses (as indicated on the map) covers portions of the We Wai Kai Nation’s territory on the Eastern side of Vancouver Island from the Oyster River to Sayward, extending as far west as Strathcona Park.

The FSP describes how the licensee will meet the legislated performance requirements, as a result of the Vancouver Island Land Use Plan, the Sayward Landscape Unit Plan, and various other Landscape Unit Plans, to ensure management of resources other than timber.

A review and comment period of sixty (60) days is open for stakeholders, interested parties, and members of the public, to provide written input regarding the content of the FSP.

Copies of the FSP can be viewed at the Capacity Forest Management Ltd. office, 1761 Redwood St., in Campbell River, BC, during regular office hours (8:00am - 5:00pm) from April 10, 2024, to June 10, 2024, (excluding weekends and holidays) or online at: www.capfor.ca

Persons wanting to register their input are invited to do so in writing prior to June 11, 2024, when the review and comment period will expire.
