Vancouver Islanders feel the earth move

6.7 magnitude earthquake hits off Vancouver Island 94 km south of Port Hardy

Residents in the Campbell River area are reporting feeling an earth tremor around 8:16 p.m.

Shortly afterwards social media sites lit up with people asking each other "Did you feel that?"

USGS reports an earthquake of 6.7 magnitude off Vancouver Island 94 km south of Port Hardy at 49.82 N ; 127.45 W at a depth of 11.4 km.

Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre has issued no warning of a tsunami.
