Two pairs of high-end basketball shoes were taken by a thieving party-goer in Nanaimo this past weekend.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, two pairs of Air Jordan retro high tops, both black and metallic gold, valued at “several thousand dollars,” were discovered missing after a house party that “apparently got out of control” on Kennedy Street on Dec. 11.

“If you’re hosting a party where unknown people may be attending, it may be wise to put valuables out of sight and keep bedroom doors closed and preferably locked,” noted RCMP in the release.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file No. 2021-45882.
