UPDATE: Body of missing Shawnigan woman found, no criminality suspected, say RCMP

The body of a Shawanigan woman missing since Jan. 24 was found on Jan. 25, RCMP said late Wednesday.

Police do not believe that criminality was involved in the Janet Klassen’s unexpected death.

The BC Coroners Service has been notified, and is also investigating, Island District RCMP said in a news release. Police thanked the media and public for the help.

Klassen was last seen at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday in the area of White Eagle Drive in Shawnigan Lake as she went for a walk but failed to return home.
