New MP makes herself available

Blaney is still waiting to be sworn in, in Ottawa

North Island-Powell River’s new MP elect wants to make sure that constituents can get in touch with her during the current transition period.

“It may take some time to set up offices in the riding but I want to make sure people can still connect with me,” said MP elect, Rachel Blaney.

The region’s Members of the Legislative Assembly, Claire Trevena and Nicholas Simons have agreed that anyone who has an issue or concern can drop off information at their community offices.

Blaney is still waiting to be sworn in, in Ottawa. In the meantime she is getting oriented to Parliament.

“It is an incredible honour to be elected and I thank all the people who voted,”  said Blaney.

The support was amazing throughout the election.

“Now I want to get on with the work of representing my constituents.”
