Mounties nab Gravel Dan the driveway fraud

At least three people paid this male cash to complete jobs which he never returned to do

Gravel Dan has been apprehended.

Between Nov. 23 and Dec. 3, a man calling himself John, John’s Driveways or Gravel Dan was going door to door soliciting business to either resurface driveways or bring a load of gravel to driveways and appeared to be targeting seniors, Cpl. Poppy Hallam of the RCMP said. He was described as Caucasian, approximately six feet tall with short greying blonde hair, sometimes wearing a beige jacket.

A media release was sent out warning the public about this male, and the Campbell River RCMP received many tips and were able to locate him on Galerno Road, near Francis Street. A 50-year-old Campbell River man was arrested without incident for fraud and failure to comply with a probation order. He was due to make a court appearance yesterday.

At least three people paid this male cash to complete jobs which he never returned to do and there may be more people out there. The Campbell River RCMP are asking the public to call if they had contact with this male and have not yet spoken with police about it. He will be facing several fraud charges and several probation charges.
