There have been a number of reports over the last month of a lone male approaching younger females

The Campbell River RCMP have issued a public warning about a man who approached a woman on Alder Street and attempted to grab her.

Early Monday morning, an adult female was walking on Alder Street near Rockland Road, headed home from a friend’s house, said Staff Sgt. Troy Beauregard of the Campbell River RCMP.

She was approached by a lone male who tried to talk with her, Beauregard said. She ignored the male who at that time became more aggressive in his attempts to speak with her. The male then grabbed hold of her. The victim was able to break free and flag down a passing vehicle while the male suspect fled.

In Monday's incident, the male suspect’s is described as a tall, white male in his 20’s, with a slim build and wearing a dark jacket. He has short dark hair and scruffy facial hair.
