There are just four weeks left to buy your Because You Care lottery ticket, with proceeds supporting two departments at Campbell River Hospital –maternity and emergency.
The portable ultrasound in the Campbell River Hospital Emergency Department has become a tool for the emergency physician that gives far more information than most tests available. It is essential in the evaluation and treatment of the patients seen in the Emergency Department, according to Campbell River Hospital staff.
With the use of this technology the physician has immediate access to patient information to assist in providing treatment and provides physicians with the ability to perform bedside exams with accuracy and eliminates delay in patient treatment.
“The portable ultrasound machine in the Emergency Department has significantly improved patient care and outcomes,” says Tricia Sinclair, Emergency Department clinical coordinator. “The ultrasound machine has proved to be lifesaving on many occasions. With the purchase of Because You Care lottery tickets, through the Campbell River Hospital Foundation, you are contributing to the valuable equipment that continues to provide our community with the necessities to provide safe patient care. The grand prize for the lottery is $10,000 cash and a $10,000 travel voucher. Second prize is an all-inclusive trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and third prize is a return trip for two to any scheduled WestJet destination.
