Highway 28 reduced to single lane traffic after logging truck goes over bank

Periodic closures may also be necessary as tow truck and Hydro crews clean up the scene

A logging truck went over the bank on the Gold River Highway near Echo Lake this afternoon at 2 p.m., Campbell River RCMP reported.

BC Ambulance Service attended and transported the driver to Campbell River General Hospital with undetermined injuries, which at this time do not appear life threatening.

Campbell River RCMP general duty and traffic services members are currently on scene.

"At this time the highway is open to single lane, alternating traffic and the highway may need to be closed down for periods of time while the tow truck and BC Hydro crews clean up the scene," Cpl. Poppy Hallam said.

No other vehicles were involved.
