Members of the Campbell River FIsh and WIldlife Assocation and the Campbell River ATV Club gather trash from the Duncan Bay Main logging road.

On Sunday, March 29 12 members of the Campbell River Fish and Wildlife Association along with 10 members of the Campbell River ATV club and two other good citizens with a backhoe and truck, did a significant community clean-up along the Duncan Bay main.

The group removed 60,930 kg of trash from the area and took it to the landfill. They were thankful that Strathcona Waste Management waived tipping fees for this project.

The Campbell River Fish and Wild Association is also reminding the public that dumping trash on the roadside is illegal and encourage anyone observing such illegal activity to report it by calling the Wilderness Watch number 1-877-952-RAPP (7277) or the RCMP.

The local Wilderness Watch group will be working with the Conservation Officers this spring to help reduce illegal dumping on our back roads.

A trailer was used to haul some of trash away.
