For the record…

A speaker before city council quoted in our April 27 story “Emotional and personal testimonies offered in defence of marijuana dispensaries” brought it to our attention that she mis-spoke when talking about her health condition leading to her being paraphrased as saying her condition was “incurable” when in fact, she meant to say her condition is manageable and curable.

In a story on April 27 (published April 26 online) about a truck that crashed into the A&W Restaurant at Discovery Harbour Mall, the driver was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act with an immediate 90-day roadside suspension. The driver told the Campbell River Mirror that the 90-day suspension stemmed from a refusal to blow into a breathalyzer device and that the unnamed driver says the refusal to blow arose from medical conditions making blowing “impossible.” The driver denies that she was impaired.
