Campbell River Search and Rescue and Emergency Support Services volunteers participated in an evacuation exercise on Tuesday based in the Sportsplex/Cottonwood subdivision area.
SAR volunteers went door-to-door alerting residents (who were previously notified for the exercise) of a hazardous situation requiring evacuation. Then ESS volunteers prepared to receive them at the Sportsplex which served as evacuee reception centre.
