DNA may have solved Campbell River break-in

Officers spotted a suspect vehicle fleeing the crime scene

DNA evidence is being used to solve a September break and enter at 986 Shoppers Row.

At the time officers spotted a suspect vehicle fleeing the crime scene. The vehicle was located blocks away abandoned with clothing associated to the perpetrator left behind. Initial efforts to locate the suspect failed.  Through DNA collected at both the crime scene and in the abandoned stolen vehicle a suspect has been identified. A report to Crown Council is being prepared requesting an arrest warrant for the suspect.
