Campbell River Fire Department responds to fire on Twillingate

The Campbell River Fire Department are responding to a fire in between Dahl and Twilingate Road. This is a developing story.

The Campbell River Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 195 Twillingate Rd. on June 7.
"We received a call around 11:50 a.m. this morning to a structure fire," said Captain John Baker. "We had crews from Fire Station 1 and 2 on Scene. Initially, we had six people here, and then as our call back crews came, we ended up with 25 personnel on scene."
The fire spread to a neighbouring house.
"We're in the early stages of our investigation. Initially, the house at 195 had heavy fire involvement, so we are focusing on that structure as the initial area of origin."
There was a senior woman in the house where the fire originated.
"She managed to get out," said Baker. "No injuries."
The homeowners of the second house were not at home at the time of the fire.
Oyster River Fire Department also sent one engine as a backup.
