Campbell River drug trafficker arrested, sentenced

Charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and with Breach of Probation

The Campbell River RCMP Street Crimes Unit arrested a man on Oct. 18 who was believed to be trafficking marijuana.

“The male, who is very well known to police, was observed making a drug transaction,” Staff Sgt. Troy Beauregard said. Police identified themselves and the suspect ran, a short foot chase ensued. The suspect was stopped and arrested moments later. A quantity of marijuana was located on him.

Aaron Bradley D’Alessandro, 23, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and with Breach of Probation.  D’Alessandro was held in custody and appeared in Provincial Court Oct. 21 where he entered a guilty plea. D’Alessandro was sentenced to 56 days jail. Anyone with information on drug trafficking in is asked to contact the Campbell River RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
