Volunteers hack away at Scotch broom on the Myrt Thompson Trail on the Campbell River Saturday morning.

Greenways Land Trust volunteers were out in force Saturday morning taking part in a Broom Bash.

Volunteers were removing the invasive Scotch broom and planting native flowering red currants. Sunny skies and pleasant conditions as well coffee and donuts from Tim Hortons kept spirits up.
