Border services clarified

A clarification is required for a story we ran last week regarding border services at Campbell River airport

A clarification is required for a story we ran last week entitled, “No more border services at Campbell River airport.”

The Campbell River Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) office which closed was not located at the airport.

When services were needed, officers were called from the downtown CBSA office to attend.

That office is now closed.

Upon receiving calls requiring CBSA services, officers will now be coming from the Comox office to attend, and as such, the situation remains unchanged in terms of services being available at the airport or the methods by which those services are offered.

The Mirror apologizes for any confusion.
