The Campbell River Fire Department is still investigating the cause of a trailer fire on April 8.
Firefighters arrived at the scene, at the Freshwater Marina Trailer Park located off of Baikie Rd., at roughly 4:45 a.m.
“On our arrival, the trailer was almost fully involved with heavy fire and smoke with substantial wind driving the fire,” says Fire Chief Dan Verdun. “We had 17 firefighters on scene until approximately 8 a.m. when the fire was declared out.”
Initial reports said nobody was in the trailer at the time, nor was anyone injured but the owner of the trailer, Jesse Gordon, said later there was one person inside who escaped with minor injuries.
