Klahoose First Nation’s management corporation sees change in leadership

New resort manager appointed for Klahoose Wilderness Resort

The Klahoose First Nation-owned Qathen Xwegus Management Corporation (QXMC) announced the appointment of its new general manager on Oct. 31.

Marco Bedetti is new to the role, but has been with QXMC for years. Bedetti has had a long and successful history with the Gorge Harbour Marina Resort. He served as the Guest Service Manager from 2017 to 2022, and since June 2022, he has held positions as Operations Manager and Resort Manager.

“Bedetti’s dedication to the transformation of the Gorge Harbour Marina Resort into a premier destination for boaters, glampers, and campers has been remarkable. Exciting developments on the horizon include the introduction of a new food truck for the 2024 season,” says a QXMC release.

Bedetti previously worked as an IT Specialist and service manager, and helped migrate QXMC’s IT systems to a new platform.

His new responsibilities will encompass Gorge Harbour Marina Resort, Klahoose Wilderness Resort, Klahoose Coastal Adventures, the Klahoose Sawmill, and Klahoose Aquaculture. The Squirrel Cove Development will continue to report to the Chair, while Klahoose Forestry Operations will maintain their reporting structure to the Board.

Also stepping in to a new role as Resort Manager for Klahoose Wilderness Resort is Maciej Szarecki, who joined\ mid-season as the on-site resort manager, and made a positive impact, garnering consistent five-star ratings from guests.

He reviously held positions as Lodge Manager with Canadian Mountain Holidays and Front Office Manager at numerous top-tier hotels.

“With the seasonal closure of the resort, Maciej will focus on fostering synergies between our resorts and planning for another outstanding season at Klahoose Wilderness Resort in 2024,” said the release.
