Hundreds of people of all ages flocked to the Sportsplex on Monday to celebrate family.

The annual event featured open gym time for play, organized sports, squash and racketball court options, crafting rooms, along with firetrucks and police cars in the parking lot for kids to tour and/or climb on.

The province announced last week that this would be the final year that B.C.’s Family Day would be celebrated on the second weekend of February. Going forward, it will match up with long weekends in other provinces, on the third weekend of the month.
