Sibling rivalry, a costume party, a questionable romance and a freak out about technology and the way the world revolves around it.

They’re all part of the award winning play “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” by Christopher Durang which is just three weeks out from opening night at the Rivercity Stage (1080 Hemlock St.).

Rivercity Players invites you to enjoy an evening of laughs and touching moments as Vanya and Sonia welcome their movie star sister Masha and her boy toy Spike, nearly half her age, into the family home. Cassandra, the psychic housekeeper warns them all but everyone thinks she’s crazy. Masha isn’t fond of the young gal Nina who’s visiting next door, but everyone else is, as she’s adorable.

With a talented cast and a great story, you will surely be entertained by this play which won a Tony Award for best play in 2013. Tickets are available online at rivercitytickets.ca or at Rivercity Players, 1080 Hemlock Street, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Nov. 14 and 21.

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike opens Nov. 30, and runs Dec. 1, 2, 7, 8, 9 at 7:30 p.m. and matinee shows on Dec. 3 and 9 at 2 p.m.
