The Queens of Comedy hits the road in March with a stop in Campbell River

Three comedians will be coming to Campbell River on March 10 as part of the Queens of Comedy tour in celebration of International Women’s Day.

Jane Stanton, Brittany Lyseng, and Sophia Johnson are veterans of Just For Laughs, CBC’s The Debaters and more. All three are part of the tour, which also has shows in Port Moody (March 7), Victoria (two shows on March 8) and Duncan (March 9) before they visit the Tidemark Theatre on March 10.

Stanton is a Vancouver-based comedian and actor. She has toured with comedians Tig Notaro, Fortune Feimster, Melissa Villasenor, Arie Spears, and more. Her debut album Date Night also charted at #1 on iTunes. Her acting credits include The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, Arctic Air, Big Sky and So Help Me Todd.

Stanton also launched a podcast called High School Sucked in 2021. It reached the top 100 comedy podcasts globally.

Lynseng, of Calgary, started her comedy career after a 12-year-stint working as an elevator mechanic. Starting at open mic nights in Calgary, Lynseng was a semi-finalist in SiriusXM Canada’s Top Comic competition. Since then, she has released her 2019 debut album, Going Up, featured on CTV’s Roast Battles, Kevin Hart’s LOL Network and various comedy shows. Lynseng was also nominated for a 2022 Canadian Screen Award (Performance in a variety or sketch program or series).

Johnson is a Vancouver-based actor from New Zealand with television credits in Ash vs the Evil Dead, Legends of Tomorrow and Nancy Drew. As a comedian, she performed at three New Zealand International comedy festivals and also worked as a writer for the New Zealand comedy show, 7 Days. Johnson also features on Just for Laugh’s album Yee Haw Hell Yeah and did a set on New Wave of Stand Up at Just For Laughs Vancouver.
