Within the first 10 minutes of opening its doors Saturday morning, the Museum at Campbell River welcomed 165 people through them.

They weren’t there to see the exhibits. They were there to add to their book collections.

The museum’s annual fundraiser sees both the lobby and main gallery filled with tables and tables and boxes and boxes of the written word. From biographies to cookbooks, children’s books to mystery novels and everything in between. Books in the main gallery were priced at $1 each or as many as you can fit in a museum-provided bag for $20.

The sale continues until 5 p.m. tonight and is on again tomorrow from noon to 4 p.m.
