The Campbell River Women’s Centre is gearing up for its 6th annual Public Art Exhibition

The Campbell River Women’s Centre is gearing up for its 6th annual Public Art Exhibition. “Celebrating Women 2013.”

This is a non-juried art show whose aim is to celebrate women and to explore their many and varied connections to the world around them.

The Centre is inviting artists and members of the greater community to come together to express and share their creative vision by submitting original art for an exhibition  that will be shown at  the Tidemark Theatre art gallery between Feb. 20 and March 12.  The exhibit has been designed to be inclusive and accessible, so submissions in a wide variety of media and from ‘artists’ of all ages and genders are welcome.  Submissions need to be in by February 19th.

In addition, leading up to the exhibition, the Women’s Centre will be hosting art workshops for women who want to explore their creativity and create a piece of original art for submission to the show. In this year’s workshops women will explore the transformative by creating butterflies.  Workshops will be held on today between 1-3 p.m. Two evening workshops will also be held on Wednesday, Feb. 5 and Feb. 8 between 6-8 p.m. For more information about submitting art to the exhibit or registering for the workshops, call the Centre at 287-3044 or e-mail  Hwomenscentre@shawcable.com
