‘Tis the season, and the Campbell River Singers are inviting everyone to join them for their 46th annual Christmas celebration on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the CR Baptist Church on Dogwood Street.

As their title piece they will be performing The Winter Rose accompanied by a 19-piece orchestra comprised of talented local musicians.

The Winter Rose, composed by Joseph M. Martin, incorporates both traditional carols and newly-composed anthems that visit the timeless Christmas story with fresh insight. Through use of music, narration and simple symbolism, the cantata presents the life of Christ from prophecy to passion.

As with all of their Christmas concerts, the choir have a varied program, from Santa and Rudolph coming to town, to a relaxing visit to the Hawaiian Islands complete with ukulele accompaniment, along with some rousing spirituals, beautiful hymns, and familiar Christmas songs.

John Montgomery, conductor, and Lynn Montgomery, piano accompanist, are working hard to bring the singers and the orchestra together for your enjoyment. This collaboration will be sure to start the Christmas Season with joyous music.

So, call a friend, bring the family, and mark the date on your calendar.

Tickets are available at The Music Plant (recommended to avoid the lineup) and at the door.
