Following up on the success of the first A Night Out Downtown in March, the City of Campbell River and Downtown BIA are presenting the second edition of the event on Thursday, Nov. 9.
This time, nine businesses along a 500-metre stretch of Shoppers Row and 11th Avenue will host entertainment and special offers starting at 4:30 p.m. and carrying on until late. Enjoy live music at Session, Beach Fire, and the Campbell River Art Gallery, comedy at Freyja, poetry reading at the Library, DJs at Mystic Earth Creations and Match, free colour matching and make up at Lash Me Up, and pictures with Santa at Curious Cat, all on the same night.
Session Taproom will host singer and guitarist Cole Clandening, while the Beach Howlers will feature at Beach Fire Brewing, and multi-disciplinary, pop-rap songwriter and producer Jozy performs at the Art Gallery. Patti Savard will host a comedy set at Freyja the croissant story, and DJs Agent Hooper, Jojo Dancer and PhanieSte will take turns spinning tunes at Mystic Earth Creations.
Meanwhile, the Library will host an open mic where poets of all levels are welcome to come and read their work, and Lash Me Up will be offering free colour matching and makeup by SEINT on a first-come-first-served basis.
Attendees are encouraged to pick up a passport at their first stop and collect stamps at each location they visit. Three stamps will earn an entry to win gift certificates and other prizes from local merchants, with bonus entries for each additional stamps collected.
The event is part of ongoing efforts by the city to animate the downtown core and is being coordinated by Spirit Square and Highway 19 Concerts programmer Lucas Schuller.
