At the Bank of Montreal on Shoppers Row the scales are definitely tipping in favour of the Campbell River Food Bank.
On Tuesday BMO Commercial Account Manager Philip Griffith stood on a set of bathroom scales, registered his weight at 250 pounds and issued a Food Bank challenge to his colleagues and customers: “Match my weight in food or build a tower of food two metres high to equal my height (with my cowboy hat on) by Dec. 1 and I will dye my hair pink.”
Griffith says all the food gathered will be donated to the Food Bank. “I drove by the Food Bank the other day and saw a long line up of people. I felt I had to do something to help. The Food Bank is such a great community volunteer organization and it deserves all the help we can give,” he said.
