The Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) has donated $1,000 to the Campbell Women’s Resource Centre (CRWRC).

VIREB member Leslie Poustie of RE/MAX Check Realty in Campbell River and VIREB Director Cholene Begin presented the award to CRWRC representatives earlier this month.

Established in 1983, CRWRC is a non-profit society providing peer support, poverty relief, agency referrals, and tax preparation for women and their children. The resource centre serves as a haven for women to meet and connect with one another in a supportive, inclusive environment. The organization also hosts Table Talk, free monthly community lunches that feed body and soul by offering nutritious meals along with guest speakers who provide valuable information on community programs and services.

“We’re delighted to have the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board as title sponsor of this program,” said Executive Director Jodi Simkin.

Throughout the year, members of organized real estate work together to make a difference in their communities by volunteering time and raising funds for a diverse array of causes and charities close to their hearts. All of these initiatives fall under the Realtors Care umbrella. This guiding principle and brand celebrates the great philanthropic work carried out by Canadian Realtors; real estate boards and associations; and broker offices. Canadian Realtors donated over $53.8 million to charities in 2012 and 2013. For more on the resource centre, visit www.crwomen.ca.
