Registration is open for the 2012 Scotiabank & BC SPCA Paws for a Cause walk held each September to raise funds for abused, injured, neglected and homeless animals. This year, participants in 34 B.C. communities will walk to raise $1 million to help our province’s most vulnerable animals. The Scotiabank & BC SPCA Paws for a Cause walk in Campbell River will be held at Nunn’s Creek Park on Sunday, Sept. 9 from 9:30 a.m., with the walk starting at 11 a.m. Registration is $20. Participants will be able to enjoy an old fashioned country fair including: face painting by Magical Faces, a kiddies fish pond, a dog obedience expert, Heather’s dog spa, a ventriloquist, humane education, a Marine Harvest BBQ, fabulous fundraising prizes and bowl-licking, best hat and best handling competitions.
