Campbell River Fire Rescue is holding its annual open house on Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Last year’s open house was very well attended, and firefighters are hoping to see even more people turn out for this year’s event.

There will be live demonstrations throughout the day with hands-on activities for the public.

There will be opportunities to climb the department’s 75 foot Aerial Ladder Truck, use the ‘jaws of life’, and see what it’s like to operate a ‘fire attack’ hose line.

Demonstrations will include fire crews attacking a simulated house fire and auto extrication.  Fire safety exhibits will also be on display. The department will also be cooking on the BBQ.

Proceeds from the BBQ will support Cameryn’s Cause.

Join Campbell River’s fire department between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday at the downtown, No. 1 Fire Station, located at 675 13th Avenue and Dogwood Street.
