To capture a reflection of Campbell River and its communities, RCMP Insp. Jeff Preston commissioned a photo wrapping for the BC Hydro box facing the detachment building.
The photograph is from the 2017 Tribal Canoe Journey in Campbell River and, in sepia form, depicts a canoe, helmed by uniformed RCMP Const. Mike Martin, accompanied by RCMP members as well as The Honourable Judith Guichon, former Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, and The Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada. Const. Martin and the Canadian Flag are in colour enhanced by the vintage look of the canoe and its surroundings.
“The photo is very much a collaboration of parties representing Canada and the makeup which makes this country so special. We are very pleased with the work that went into this project and would like to thank the City of Campbell River, BC Hydro and Power Authority as well as Grant Illuminated Signs, Ltd. This combined effort is truly a reflection of the city we live in and the community we work with and serve,” said Inspector Jeff Preston, officer in charge of Campbell River RCMP Detachment.
