Quality Foods and the Campbell River Mirror are teaming up today to bring bags of holiday cheer to those in need.

Included in today’s edition of the newspaper will be Quality Foods grocery bags. Merecroft Village Quality Foods store manager Cyriel DeBruyne says: “We hope as many Mirror readers as possible will fill the bags with non-perishable food. They can drop the bags off here at our store, at the Mirror office on Dogwood or they can take them directly to the Campbell River Food Bank.

“This is the eighth year we’ve helped the needy this way. Teaming up with the Mirror has been a great success.”

Mirror publisher Zena Williams says the grocery bag drive raises many thousands of dollars worth of food each year.

“This partnership with Quality Foods, along with our Pennies for Presents campaign, reminds us every year that we are blessed to be members of a caring and giving community.

“At Christmas the needs of the less fortunate are felt most dearly and we are proud to partner with the community in these important campaigns that celebrate the spirit of sharing.”
