Mosquito AA Tyees end the season with a berth in provincials

The Campbell River Mosquito AA Tyees recently came in second place in the Island Regionals in Chemainus, BC to qualify for the Provincial Championship in Surrey, B.C., held July 29 – 31.

The Mosquito AA Tyees lost a few close games, one to Port Coquitlam by a score of 7-6 and one to Newton by a score of 18-16, keeping them from qualifying for the finals.

They truly showcased their baseball skills in the skills competition, however, which was held after the opening ceremonies. During the skills competition Hunter Auramenko, Zach Auramenko, Beau Murray and Eric Schulz won gold in the Around the Horn competition, Zach Auramenko, Ahron Calalay, Kanoah Sequeira, Spencer Uzzell-Paulos and Adin Vipond won the silver in the base running competition and Aiden Carter, Wyatt Irvine, Marcus Petersen and Haydn West grabbed the bronze in the rocket relay.
