It’s a very sad day in the small Community of Black Creek. “Papa Bill, Dad, Loving Husband & Chief” has passed away. Dec., 6, 2002.

Predeceased by his father, mother.

He will be sadly missed by his family: loving wife of 47 years Rose, sons Sam (Leanne); Bob (Jaye); sisters Sheila, Marie, Catherine, Sharon and brother Jack; grandchildren Sean, Lisa (Paul); Sam Jr., Troy, Crystal, Brittany, Dustin; great grandchildren Kaitlynn; Kristen.

Throughout his life Bill worked as a logger, Painter at the Elk Falls Pulp Mill for 13 years, had R & B Auto Body, then was known as “Miracle Bill” for 23 years when he served the community with endless hours towing vehicles and auto mechanics at Miracle Service.

His love of auto mechanics, lead to years of auto racing. He raced at the local track.

For the past 23 years he served his community as a volunteer Fireman and became Chief of the Oyster River Fire Department in 1988 to 2001 when he retired.

Bill stayed active in the communities and drove Kenworth tow truck for Nanoose Bay Towing until June 2002. Many friends will sadly miss Bill.

A Celebration of life will be held at the Black Creek Community Hall located on Black Creek Road from 1:00-4:00 on Friday, December 13, 2002.
