Rita Louise Mae SIMONS

April 22, 2005

SIMONS,

Rita Louise Mae

(nee Whyte)

July 3, 1947- April 22, 2005

Rita Simons walked the road less traveled, choosing a path where she offered more than she could ever take. She found simple pleasure in a warm fire by the lake, counting stars on a moonlit night, or rediscovering the world, over and over, with her grandchildren. Undeterred, she defined courage while challenging her illness. Shining bright, her unrelenting spirit taught all those around her what it is to live. Her strength rains as the pillar that holds our hearts.

Passing peacefully with family at her side, she has gone to join her father, John and brother Bruce. She will be profoundly missed by her mother Gwen, husband Don, sons and daughters-in-law Steven and Victoria, and Kevin and Angela, and her pride and joy, her grandchildren Shelby, Christian and Kaitlyn. She is also survived by her sister Lillian and brothers Kenny and Sidney, and many nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation, 375 2nd Ave.. Campbell River, or to the Palliative Care Program, Senior Home & Community Service, 110 Birch St. Campbell River in memory of Rita Simons. Please join Rita’s family for an afternoon tea to be held Sunday May 1, 2005 between 1-3pm at the Eagles Hall, 1999 14th Avenue, Campbell River.
