She married Einar in 1935 and moved to Campbell River where she raised their two boys. Hazel was the librarian at the CR public library in the 50's and 60's when the library was housed in the municipal offices. She was a life member of the Chas-Maria chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. In the early years of the Campbell River Rotary Club she was an active member of the women's auxiliary (Rotary Ann's). Her favorite social activity was bridge and she was active in several bridge clubs. The family wishes to thank the Para-Medics, Fire & Rescue, emergency room staff, Dr. Jon Walker, and the Nurses and staff on the 3rd floor of the hospital for their kind and compassionate care during Hazel's last days. There will be no service, a family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers those wishing to honor Hazel's memory could donate to the charity of their choice.
