Durie, Harold

in Campbell River, BC.
Harold was pre-deceased by his brother Roy, sister-in-law Evelyn, son Brian, daughter Evie Joan, and grandson Barry. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Renee (Fidler), sons Barry (Linda), Ron (Marg), Bob (Gail), Peter, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and many friends and relatives in BC, Alberta, and Manitoba. Harold worked for C.I.L. at Brainerd and James Island, BC until his retirement in 1975, after which he became a commissionaire, a job he performed proudly for another 15 years. His favorite hobby was oil painting, creating works of art in his later years that now hang on the walls of many friends and relatives. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Campbell River Hospital and Sunshine Lodge for their kindness and caring in Harold’s final days.
Cremation has taken place. To celebrate his life, a gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
