May 31, 1935 - August 22, 2017

With great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our dear dad, grandpa and husband, Harold Angus Kerpan on August 22, 2017 at the age of 82 years. Dad was born on May 31, 1935 in Campbell River, BC to Jack and Emma Kerpan.

Dad has joined our Mom, Carol, his brother Ken and his grandson Tyson as well as many family members and friends who passed before him. Dad is survived by his wife Joan and her family; his children Kim (Doug), Linda (Jim) and Dean (Julie); his grandchildren Kyrstin (Craig), Michael, Owen and Teva; his great-grandson Madden; siblings Ron (Ethel), Peter (Hazel), Carol (Bob). Dad will also be missed by his large extended family and many wonderful friends.

Dad began his working career as a psychiatric nurse at Riverview Hospital. In 1967 Dad moved his family to Gold River to work as a first aid attendant at the newly opened pulp mill. He later became a steamfitter/pipefitter by trade.

This summer marked Dad's fiftieth year as a proud resident of Gold River, he was a valued member of the community. An active member of the Rod & Gun Club, Dad held many positions throughout his decades of service. He enjoyed social time at the Revellers Seniors Club and also volunteered for the Kidney Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society for many years. There was always a raffle ticket to sell, a membership to collect and a visit to be had!

A celebration of life will be held at 1pm, Friday September 1st at the Christian Fellowship Church, 600 Nimpkish Drive, Gold River BC. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favourite charity.

Our family would like to thank the people of the community of Gold River for embracing our Dad, showing him kindness, care and concern and making cherished friendships that made Gold River the place Dad loved to call home.
