It is with great sadness we announce that Gwen Whyte 97 passed away in the Campbell River Hospital. Gwen was predeceased by her husband John in 2002, daughter Rita in 2005, son Bruce in 1971 and all 7 of her brothers and sisters. She was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Lillian Whyte, sons Ken (Lory) Whyte and Sydney Whyte, grandchildren; Diana, Cheryl, Darrell, Steven, Kevin, Karl, Garry, Theresa and Carmen (and their spouses) as well as 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
The family would like to thank the staff at Yucalta Lodge for the wonderful care they provided for Gwen over the past three years.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 at the Eagles Hall at 1pm. There will be an open mic.
