A sustainable, off-grid eco-resort on the south coast of British Columbia has been named Canada’s “Leading Wilderness Resort.”

Located east of the Vancouver Island city of Campbell River and north of the spectacular Desolation Sound, Klahoose Wilderness Resort received that title from the World Travel Award – established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries.

Today, the World Travel Awards brand is recognized globally as a hallmark of industry excellence, presenting awards in a number of categories based on major geographical subdivisions which are further divided into subregions, one of which includes a list of categories for awards in North America and Canada.
